Post CPU Cooling with Thermaltake's SpinQ
I been a bad computer guy and have been running a stock cooler on my gaming rig since built last May. But with a little cash in my hands I went to newegg and purchase thermaltake's SpinQ for my Q6600 processor. Installation was relatively easy and the one big reason I went with a spinQ was I didn't have to uninstall my Motherboard to mount such a ridiculous heavy cpu cooler. I know the spinQ don't really compare to other coolers out there such as the dual orb but come on, I needed to do something about my temps and this thing really helped me out. Under Idle my cpu with stock cooler was running over 50 degrees celcius and when I put a 50 percent load in a program called winstress I reach almost 90 degree's celcius in a 10 minute test. Now that's HOT!! After installation of the spinQ and with the fan on the lowest setting my idle temps went down almost 12 degrees C. When I put the winstress to it, the processor held around 55 degrees throughout the 10 minute duration. I am very pleased with the results and now can think of overclocking the processor a bit.

Very nice cooler. I was about to comment and ask why you didn't go with a Zalman, but then I kept reading and saw the bit about not removing the motherboard. I know that I'm running the cooler that Alienware installed on my PC. I can't wait for my warranty to run out so I can go nuts customizing this thing. If I didn't have dual monitors, or if I had room for a wider desk, I would get an Armor series case, and drop that on my desktop, instead of on the floor. Looks like you good a pretty nice case with tool-less bays. What model is it?

its a smilodon raidmax, the only screws you have to mess with is the one thumb screw that takes the whole harddrive mount out and of course for the pci cards
Both sides of the case fold outward which i thought be usefull for this install but wasn't. When I folded the side back up the cooler got caught on the top side of the case. I had the q6600 overclocked to 3 gig earlier, ran cod5 okey but when I ran the winstress the system locked up. So I bumped the processer down to 2.92 to give it some breathing room.
